‘Checking me out already, Astley?’ he asks, and she’s surprised to see a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. ‘What’s the verdict?’

She rolls her eyes. ‘Let’s just get this over and done with.’

London, 1983. 

The war has been lost, and the Dark Lord reigns supreme over wizarding Britain. Those who resist this totalitarian regime either perish or are forced to live in the shadows. One of these individuals is Aria Astley, a highly wanted woman and member of the rapidly dwindling resistance. The war has robbed her of almost everything she once loved, and now she and her small band of rebels will stop at nothing to burn the government to ashes.

Regulus Black is her polar opposite. He's climbed the ranks by dealing ruthlessly with his opponents, and is sat at Voldemort's right hand- yet he's never felt more disillusioned. When the drugs and alcohol no longer provide him with the escapism he craves, he decides to find an alternative way to get his kicks. From the moment Aria and Regulus meet in a secluded corner of wizarding London, they both know that the course of their lives- and perhaps that of the entire wizarding world- are about to be irrevocably changed.

제임스, 릴리 심지어 해리까지 죽었다는 설정이라 정말 암담하다. 그럼에도 불구하고 주인공을 비롯한 오러들은 여전히 볼드모트와 죽먹자 무리에 반기를 들며 게릴라 형태로 숨어서 활동중이던 차, 줄 잘 타서 볼드모트의 오른팔이 된 레귤러스가 갑자기 오러의 스파이 노릇을 해주겠다고 제안한다. 왜일까? 

 

업로드 주기가 굉장히 길지만 그만큼 묘사가 상세하고 설정을 잘 짰다. 단어는 어려운데 문장 자체는 아주 어렵진 않은 것 같다고 느꼈다. 사실 엄청 대충 봐서 자세한 줄거리는 모르겠으나 대충 볼드모트 오른팔 노릇과 이 세계 돌아가는 꼬라지에 염증이 난 레귤러스가 개과천선 하겠다고 여주편 들면서 스파이 노릇을 시작했는데 알고보니 둘 사이에 여주만 모르던 과거가 있더라는 내용이다. 굉장히 slow burn이지만 솔직히 그래서 재밌는거다. 1년에 한 5~6편 정도만 올라온다는 치명적 단점만 빼면.

근데 여기선 설정상 나이가 좀 있는 편이라 난 바티 크라우치 주니어로 나왔던 데이비드 테넌트가 떠올랐음...

 

 

 

주인공 Astley(애스틀리) 는 제시카존스의 크리스틴 리터

내 모가지가 날아갈 순간이라도 물불 안 가리고 뛰어드는 이 시대의 진정한 상여자

 

쿨하고 멋있고 열정적이지만 한편으론 인간적이고 따뜻하고.. 시대가 시대인지라 잃은 것도 많지만 지켜야할 것도 많아서 잠깐 슬퍼했다가도 금새 딛고 일어나는 존나 멋있는 롤모델같은 여자... 구냥 보다보면 안다 그렇게 민폐는 아니면서 제 할일 알아서 척척하고, 그런데 항상 위험이 도사리는 동네에 너무 겁 없이 뛰어들어서 내가 다 겁나는 ㅋㅋ 나중엔 결국 레귤러스가 빡쳐가지고 너 때매 걱정돼서 죽겠따 어쩌고 하는게 이 소설의 묘미임.. ㅠ ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
